We bought some tables for Ralph's living room from
an ad on Craigslist last weekend. We were able to
load the coffee table and two end tables in our
Honda Accord because we could remove the glass
tops. He had car-pooled home for the weekend and
couldn't take them back with him. Matt helped me
take them apart again and load them in my car on
Friday. I've delivered them here in Virginia Beach
and they look great!
I am enjoying the weekend. We
did quite a lot of
shopping on Saturday. Today, we got out to a
breakfast at IHOP and caught a matinee of "Harry
Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". We both enjoyed
that. I have promised myself we will see the final
movie at an IMAX theater. We were weighing whether
to see it sooner or wait to see it in 3D. Both have
good points. This one would have been worth waiting
for.
Then we checked
out the nearby beach on Chesapeake Bay. That was
quite enjoyable. The wave action is stronger, but
there is shade from the bridge abutments. People
were fishing, and large and small boats were coming
and going in the channel. People were throwing out
chicken wings to fish for crabs. It reminded me of
taking the kids fishing in Tampa when they were
little. We'd go under the bridge abutments and
throw out cast nets to get bait and fish. Ralph
usually spent all his time helping the rest of the
family bait hooks or untangle lines! At Chesapeake
Bay, one part allows swimming, the other does not,
but the walk is fine and it's a pleasant place with
a great breeze. I'll go again prepared to stay
longer.
